For more than 55 years we’ve been traveling all over the world searching for the softest fabrics and most stunning designs. We’ve witnessed ancient histories woven on rich tapestries, marveled at unexpected elements of modern architecture, and explored unique styles from many cultures and eras. And yet, none of that could have prepared us for the wonder and joy we felt when the newest member of the Schweitzer family arrived.

Born January 8, 2023, Alessia Rose Schweitzer now represents the 4th generation of our Schweitzer family—and her arrival has been nothing less than a miracle. From the instant we laid eyes on this beautiful baby girl, we knew she was one of the most important people in our lives. And isn’t that a miracle in itself? In a matter of seconds, another human being becomes an integral part of your core, part of who you are. Someone you would do anything for. This is the true miracle of life and love.
When you watch a new life come into the world, feel those tiny fingers wrap around yours, and think about what they’ll be like and all the things they’ll do, all the worries and stress of the world don’t seem to matter as much. There is no room for angst, only deep love, and a natural wonder of it all. As you take in the beauty before you, so tiny and perfect, their purpose becomes part of your purpose.

And it’s that strong family bond that has made our small business what it is today. Because whether your family comes from blood lineage or a circle of close friends, when you have the love, trust, and strength of a family in your life, you can achieve anything.

As for joining the family business, maybe one day she’ll help us continue our 55+ year journey discovering and crafting luxurious products for people all over the globe—but there’s plenty of time for that. Whatever she ends up doing years from now, we hope she does it because it makes her happy.

Of course, she is currently spending most of her time in our super cozy luxury baby clothes, so we wouldn’t be surprised if those soft, snuggable textures and original, adorable designs end up inspiring her first love of all things luxurious. And as she grows and gains new insights, perhaps she’ll lead the way to the next generation of Schweitzer products. Introducing new innovations/designs and more refined ways to enrich your everyday life—while maintaining the reverence and respect we always have for heritage and things of the past. But until she decides what her path in life is, you can be sure we will continue along the one we chose over 5 decades ago. Crafting finely made luxury products you can trust to comfort, soothe, inspire, and delight you in all the ways you want and need.
We’ve said many times we consider our customers part of the Schweitzer family, so please join us in welcoming our newest member.
